We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our Research Team.

As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure and pipelines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, implement data solutions, and ensure the availability, integrity, and quality of real estate data. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data engineering, excellent programming skills, and a deep understanding of real estate data and industry-specific challenges.

What will I be doing?

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to collect, process, and store real estate data from various sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions that address their needs.
  • Cleanse, transform, and integrate real estate data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Implement data quality checks and validation processes to identify and resolve data issues.
  • Develop and maintain data models, database structures, and data dictionaries for efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Optimize data processing and storage systems to ensure scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their data requirements and enable advanced analytics and insights.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in data engineering and the real estate industry.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations in handling real estate data.

What is required of me?

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on real estate data, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, or Java.
  • Experience with data engineering tools and frameworks, such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Airflow.
  • Proficiency in working with relational databases, data warehouses, and big data technologies.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, database design principles, and data integration techniques.
  • Familiarity with real estate data sources, including MLS data, property listings, property valuation models, or geospatial data.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Continuous learning mindset and willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.
